Cyber Mission and OSS Scanner
Anthropic announced Cyber Mission, a long-term program applying Claude to the defense of critical infrastructure and open-source software. For energy, water, transport and industrial systems, the new Critical Infrastructure Defense Program brings Anthropic models, engineers and threat research to participating providers. The initial group includes Accenture, CrowdStrike, Dragos, Hitachi, Palo Alto Networks and Rockwell Automation, among others.
The second track is OSS Scanner. Open-source projects can opt into free recurring scans by the company’s strongest models. Reports include a proof of concept, an explanation of the issue and a suggested patch when the model can produce one.
Checking automated reports
OSS Scanner reports are sent without human review. Anthropic warns of errors, including in severity ratings, and forecasts a true-positive rate above 90%. The service targets teams able to triage findings themselves. A human-reviewed disclosure process remains available for others.
