Gemini agent for work tasks

At Gemini at Work 2026, Google Cloud introduced Gemini agent, described as a universal agent for work. The company presents it as a single entry point for tasks ranging from organizational knowledge retrieval and content creation to coding. The agent can use business context, make a plan, select tools and models, then complete work inside the documents, inboxes and developer environments employees already use.

The announced product includes cost controls, administration, security and enterprise governance. These functions accompany the agent’s access to multiple organisational systems.

Availability and limitations

Google Cloud introduced the product and its purpose at the 8 October conference. The publication does not describe full availability by plan and region. Specific access arrangements belong to Google Cloud’s enterprise offering.
