Cameras and alerts
NtechLab has deployed a video-analytics pilot in Yoshkar-Ola for areas where electric scooters are prohibited. The system processes municipal camera feeds, identifies scooter riders among pedestrians and sends alerts to the responsible city services. It is aimed primarily at privately owned scooters, but the developer says it can also recognise rental models and identify their operator.
Limits of the pilot
The city has about twenty areas closed to scooters, including embankments, squares and parks. The system detects incidents and alerts services. Authorities are discussing automated fines for riding and parking in those areas; these have not been introduced.
