Execution Containers and RTX Spark

Microsoft announced general availability of Microsoft Execution Containers, or MXC. This is operating-system infrastructure in which AI agents can run persistently in the background under Windows control, allowing their activity to be isolated, observed and governed. In parallel, NVIDIA opened preorders for RTX Spark laptops, with availability stated for October 16; compact desktop systems are due in November.

RTX Spark combines an NVIDIA Grace CPU with Blackwell RTX graphics, offering up to 128GB of unified memory and up to one petaflop of FP4 compute. NVIDIA says these machines can run large models locally without sending work data to the cloud. Systems are planned from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, MSI and Gigabyte.

Local execution and access controls

MXC provides isolation and control of agent actions in Windows, while RTX Spark hardware is intended for local model execution. NVIDIA also showed a future DGX Station for Windows. The announcement does not specify its sales date.
