First in 74% of sampled networks

Cloudflare published the comparison on 2 October 2026. It measured TCP connection time, an initial stage of communication between devices. Across 74% of the 1,000 largest networks in its August sample, Cloudflare recorded the best result among the providers compared. The percentage refers to networks in which it ranked first.

How the result was calculated

The ranking uses a trimean, a statistical measure combining the median and two quartiles. Cloudflare expanded its observations with measurements through Challenge Pages. The methodology accompanies the results and sets out the scope of the comparison.

One part of loading a page

Once the connection is established, the server still has to process the request and transfer data, and the browser has to display the page. Cloudflare’s result describes one part of that sequence. A particular website’s speed also depends on the user’s region, connection and the application itself.
