Equipment up, waste down
In a report dated 9 July 2026, DJI described drone operations on Everest. According to the company, 10,073 kg were transported between base camp and Camp I, comprising 7,215 kg of equipment and 2,858 kg of waste removed.
Three tasks
The report covers FlyCart 100 deliveries, Matrice 4E mapping and EV50 transport of scientific equipment. Mapping took place in spring 2026. Exact dates for every other mission are not supplied; the total weight refers to the series of operations described.
A two-way route
The route serves two flows: equipment travels up to camp and waste returns below. Operations include preparing cargo, handling it at both sites and the flight between them. DJI’s figures aggregate transport by the manufacturer and its partners.
