The Kosmo One camera and World platform

On October 14, China’s Hesai introduced Kosmo, a system combining the Kosmo One camera with the Kosmo World cloud platform. The camera integrates lidar, a one-inch imaging sensor and an inertial unit; the platform converts captures into 3D Gaussian Splatting scenes, meshes and depth data for simulation, world models and robot training.

Hesai announced partnerships with Galbot and Dexmal and integrations with NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Unreal Engine, RenderMan and Houdini. Users can access data and 3D assets. The announcement does not specify camera pricing, shipment dates or cloud tariffs.

Data for training in 3D

According to Hesai, a 100-square-metre room can be scanned in about 15 minutes, with more than 10,000 training trajectories generated from one scene. The system is intended to reduce manual work in building digital environments.

In Hesai’s Dairy Queen café demonstration, environment creation took 15 minutes, compared by the company with about 300 hours of manual work. The supplier reports a 99% action-success rate for the Sharpa robot in that installation.
