Robots in their own factory
On 13 February 2026, Unitree reported tests of UnifoLM-X1-0 at its own robotics manufacturing site. The company is using the facility to study assembly operations involving humanoid robots.
Assembly as a control task
In production, a robot has to relate its movement to a part’s position and the sequence of operations. Preparing objects, grasping them and passing on the result are connected steps. Testing at its own site allows engineers to observe those actions and revise the system using operational feedback.
What the report establishes
Unitree’s short report describes factory trials. It does not provide a detailed task list, cycle durations or operator-intervention rates. The demonstration presents the application chosen for the model: using robots to assemble robots.
