Two search methods in one database
Yandex B2B Tech announced built-in hybrid search for YDB on 2 October 2026. It is available in Enterprise edition 26.3, both on customer infrastructure and through Managed Service for YDB.
Exact matches and meaning
Full-text search finds words and exact identifiers, such as a document number. Vector search connects a question with material worded differently. Hybrid search combines the results, with ranking determining their order. An AI assistant can use the retrieved passages as the basis for answers about company documents.
Indexes alongside the data
According to the developer, search indexes update in the same transaction as the original records. This reduces the number of separate components that need to coordinate changes. The database owner still defines document versions and readers’ access rights.
